About the Staff |
The staff of the Center is keenly aware of the challenges facing caregivers and those confronted by Alzheimer's disease. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Social Worker, Jan Golembiski's, experience in working with the elderly is extensive. For more than eight years, Jan has worked in the social services field. Her experience includes working with the mentally ill, children in need of foster care, and seniors.
As Coordinator for The Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's, Jan provides at-home consultations for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's and dementia, arranges counseling services with a clinical psychologist, provides crisis intervention, and visits senior organizations and adult day care facilities to promote education on Alzheimer's.
Jan also conducts educational workshops for health care professionals and works closely with local police departments and professionals in the community to provide services to seniors in need. In addition, Jan leads monthly Alzheimer's support groups to further assist those affected by Alzheimer's. |
